Hey Everyone! I’m still trying to catch up and keep consistent on the Internet, but I wanted to invite you all to be apart of a new comic anthology/zine I’m publishing called Restless Minds.
I’m hoping to fill this thing full of Comics and Illustrations!
What is Restless Mindsyou ask? That’s an excellent question! I suffer from anxiety and wanted to create a comics anthology dealing with artists overcoming their own personal anxieties, worries, and fears to create the things they love.
Length: 1-4 Pages.
Dimensions: 5.5” 8.5” portrait (Safe area 5” x 8”. Full bleed 5.75” x 8.75”)
FULL COLOR or BLACK & WHITE with COLOR (At least one color please, I’m aiming for this to be a colorful book).
Resolution: 300 DPI or higher!
File Format: PSD, TIFF, or JPEG.
Deadline: Monday, September 15th!

DEBUTING: Alternative Press Expo 2014! (October).

I’m hoping to put together an awesome book that not only shows everyone’s talents, but brings a positive message of overcoming personal obstacles to create amazing works of art. This means a lot to me and hopefully it resonates with you as well.

For submissions included in the book, I’ll be compensating each artist with 2 copies of the book (one for you and a friend). I’ll also be donating some books to local organizations in San Diego that deal with Anxiety and Depression, such as the Center for Understanding and Treating Anxiety @ SDSU.

Send submissions or questions to: uppermindink@yahoo.com

Please Share and Reblog!
Thanks!

inariedwards said: Hi! Sorry if this is not the right avenue to ask this question, but you were linked to from the trainerdex tumblr. I'm wondering if it's possible to participate in the trainerdex collaboration without a Twitter account? I'm really not interested in signing up for Twitter, but am very interested in drawing a pokemon trainer for the collab :3 It's a really cool idea.

Hello!

You don’t need a Twitter account to participate. Just make sure to browse the list and let me know which one of the available characters you wish to draw. Once I confirm your character, you can start working on your entry.

Thanks for taking interest in the collab!

HEY GUYS I won’t regale you with a long winded tale of WHY I need your money, but I would like to go to NY during comic con so I guess if you wanna SEE ME THERE please, do not hesitate to tell me your deepest and darkest desires so that I may draw them for cash.

Yo, commission my friend AJ. He’s amazing!

death and art tributes

samspratt:

Art can actually be a beautiful way to pay tribute to death, there’s no wrong way to grieve, and there’s validity in being sad over people you’ve never even met.

But to any artists out there, I encourage you to simply ask yourself honestly if within hours of discovering someone dying, and you’re already putting pen/brush to paper/canvas — why you are, and if you should. Are you doing that because you profoundly want to honor this person you have never commemorated before, or are you capitalizing on someone’s death for self-promotion? If the answer is the former, then a “window of relevance” won’t matter — put weight behind that decision, take care, take your time, and truly make it great.
